(GRCAM vs. Mega Churches)

First I will talk about Mega Churches within the black community then I will discuss my organization which I have been pushing for twenty two years. A Mega Church is a church having 2,000 or more members who attends on a weekly basis. The Hartford Institute’s database lists more than 1,300 such Protestant churches in the United States. According to that data, approximately 50 churches on the list have attendance ranging from 10,000 to 47,000. While 3,000 individual Catholic parishes (churches) have 2,000 or more attendants for an average Sunday Mass, these churches are not seen as part of the mega church movement. These large congregations are a significant development in Christianity. In the United States, the phenomenon has more than quadrupled in the past two decades. The largest mega church in the United States is Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas with more than 40,000 members every weekend.

A common criticism of mega churches is that they draw members away from other churches. This has led to use of the derisive term, “Wal-Mart type of churches”. The majority of North American churchgoers attend small churches of fewer than 500 members. Critics of mega churches claim that such churches are more concerned with entertainment than religion. Al Sharpton has claimed that such churches focus on personal morality issues while ignoring social justice. Critics have also raised issues with the application of corporate business models, from such business like Wal-Mart; a seeker-friendly approach, intensive market research, heavy reliance upon opinion polls, polished advertising targeted at affluent young professionals, with unconventional worship styles. Some mega churches, such as the Christian Open Door, are sometimes criticized by former members and anti-cult associations for an alleged use of cultic practices. Another concern with mega churches is their 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. These churches generate millions of dollars in revenue and are not subject to the same disclosures that charities are on tax-exempt revenues. This has received attention from the US Senate. Many mega churches have been investigated by the media for allegedly illegal contributions to political campaigns to Republican and Democratic candidates and some has been accused of embezzlement. My question is with all of this cash coming into the community why is it that our public schools in the inner cities remain underfunded? How are their no investment within the black community for new businesses and what is crime rate is higher within the African American Community?

One of the main questions people ask me is what if I never get thirty people to join my team, what are you going to do? I wrote my book “The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America” Second Edition because I lack support from established black organizations in my city and from the black churches in my former community. This book is based on my personal experience growing up in the inner city of Chicago. I also wrote my book in order to generate capital/seed money, in order to offer incentives to thirty talented individuals within the state of Illinois or beyond who have read my book and agree with what I am trying to do in Urban America for them to come to Chicago and work with me directly in getting my organization the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement up and running. I have something that no community organization has, no politician has, and no preacher has, that is the answer to end gun violence, poverty, and structural inequality within the communities and cities we will serve if given a chance to do so.

I am just one man with a plan I never claim that I can walk on water. The reason why I call on 30 people who have already read my book and agree with my plan/vision on improving Urban America is because I don’t want to continue repeating myself I wrote my vision in my book and I laid out a roadmap on how we are going to do it and where we are going to do it. I will place five people within six groups to work on different things at once. After all I am 22 years behind schedule. Our agenda is to make Chicago a model first before we expand to 25 other cities within 25 states. We will end gun violence, poverty, and structural inequality within the low income African American Communities in Chicago.

Our focus is on strengthening single black mothers, single black fathers, and low income two parent families that want and need our services. We will provide goods and services to our clients and members and provide private employment within the organization pending on our budget and sponsorship. Most of all we will confront the Willie Lynch Mentality which is holding us back as a racial group. I want to make sure that no one under my leadership will ever have to endure what I had just to start a business within the black community. I refused to kiss up to any man or woman to work with me they will die just like me. I am deep rooted in my cause “Help Stop The Genocide In American Ghettos” no man or woman on earth will change the vision my creator has given me to do.

The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement is a private for profit service base business. It will have three main components a social service component, a spiritual component, and a political component. Why only 25 cities because of all the rejections I endured for two decades. My vision goes beyond Urban America my creator wants me to expand GRCAM abroad. We will provide agricultural technology, employment within the organization, and housing to countries in Africa, Brazil, and the Caribbean Islands to people that want and need our services.  Those who disagree with the principles I laid out in my book will have no place in my organization or in my life. Our motto: one mind, one voice, and be on one accord. We will solve our social problems once and for all. GRCAM will be open to all law abiding citizens, all racial groups are welcome to join us but everyone must accept the principles in my book no exceptions.  If I am unable to get 30 people to join my team then I will continue to pray to my creator and continue to promote my book.

Bible References: Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” In the book of I John 5:4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” In the book of Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” In the book of Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. My vision is confirmed in the book of Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” In the book of John 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” This is my contribution back to my community and throughout the African Diaspora.
