(The Solution For Black America)

23 years is much to long for my message to be ignored my information is relevant in this day and age. I refuse to allow small minded individuals from discouraging me from my God given assignment. I am determined to use my story as a catalyst for social change.  The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement was created by Emmanuel Barbee on a website called Gopher back on November 1991 in order to improve the inner cities of Chicago starting on the Westside and later on the Southside. GRCAM aim is to connect with other liked minded individuals across America and abroad to deal with all of the complexities within the black culture, GRCAM seeks to strengthen the black family and the low income African American community by:

* Networking and sharing knowledge through webinar conferences, relevant information in the group

* Promote cooperative alliances with community organizations, Native Africans, and Caribbean Islanders

* Invite guest to participate in our online activities, which are designed to raise awareness about issues affecting the black community

My intention for creating this group and other groups is to gather support from people who want to solve black issues once and for all by building bridges between cultures and religions, networking and sharing information that the main stream media will never share.

FOR THE BLACK COMMUNITY

My main goal is to move this virtual organization from behind a computer and be involved with community affairs. GRCAM mission is to end urban violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities we will serve if given a chance. GRCAM is open to all law abiding citizens, all racial groups, and undiscovered artist. Most GRCAM activities are free but we will have some services that will cost in order to fund our programs. I want to hire professions to join my management team so that I can do all of the things which I have written in my revised book “The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America” second edition. This book is an auto-biography about my experience growing up in the inner city of Chicago. I wrote this book for three reasons: one reason is to raise awareness about the genocide which is taken place within our inner cities in America.

Another reason why I wrote my book is to promote my organization the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement.  GRCAM will become  a none profit and also a for profit multi-service based business. It will have three main components: a social service component, a spiritual component, and a political component. Our focus is on providing goods and services to the low income African American community and working directly with single black mothers, single black fathers, and low income two parent families within the communities and cities we will serve.

Finally, I wrote my book in order to generate capital/seed money so that I can hire thirty qualified individuals to assist me in the daily operation of my business. I want to make Chicago a model first before we expand to 25 other cities within 25 states. Once we’re established in America I plan on having Native Africans in America to assist me in setting up chapters in 25 countries in Africa.

The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement is a Christian Socialist organization.  A Christian socialist is a form of socialism based on the teachings of Jesus. Many Christian socialists believe that capitalism is idolatrous and rooted in greed, social inequality, and institutionalized racism which most Christian denominations consider a mortal sin. I am an upcoming a social entrepreneur. A social entrepreneur are people who try to solve social, cultural, and environmental issues. Some of my Christian friends ask me why do I include secular people on my friends list? I explain to them that we as Christians should focus on what we stand for: love, compassion, social justice, and liberation theology. Jesus commanded us to be a witness to others not just for us to read his word, but to activate social change in the world according to Luke 4:18-19.

The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement will become a nonprofit as well as a for profit multi-service based business. It will have three main components: a social service component, a spiritual component, and a political component.

Our Social service component – Will provide goods and services to the low income African American community by working directly with single black mothers, single black fathers, and low income two parent families within the communities and cities we will serve. We will offer private employment within the organization to our clients and members based on our budget and sponsorship. In time we will offer a second chance program for ex offenders, former gang members, and the homeless. Our goal is to first stabilize the community through our outreach programs and create legitimate jobs so that our young people don’t become career criminals. As a result we will have safer streets where our clients can raise their families.

Our spiritual component – Would be optional for secular people. We will focus on personal develop, self-sufficiency and create productive individuals and functional families within the communities we will serve. We welcome all Christian denominations in the faith, we will work with moderate Muslims to teach the community about tolerance and how to co-exist by respecting one another belief system. I want us to pool our resources collectively for the common good of the community.

Our political component – We will create our own independent political party at the local level. We will educate the community and push for community rights by creating our own laws and get those laws on the books which will be compatible with the dominant culture. Our laws would protect our local residents and give the community a voice and those affected by bias in the current system. We will hold both Rogue Cops and Urban Terrorist accountable for their actions in a constructive manner. We will form cooperative alliance beyond the black community so that this organization can be diverse for all people of Chicago and surrounding suburbs of Chicago.

My plan also include creating a private school called the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute, school of Arts and Entertainment. We will offer six basic classes ranging from Film Making, Performing Arts, Entrepreneurship Training, Journalism, Book Writing Workshop, and Financial Literacy. We will offer internships and give stipends to our students pending on our budget and sponsorship. I am still seeking 30 individuals within the United States who have or who will read my revised book and agree with my plan to improve our inner cities starting in Chicago.

Those persons will go down in history with me for I will share the limelight as mentioned in my book. They will assist me with the daily operations of the business. They must be brave enough and smart enough to join my management team, for those persons to make themselves known to me. They must have degrees or training in the following areas: Executive Assistant, Accountant, General Manager, Social Worker, Associate Director, Financial Planner, Marketing, Information Technology Coordinator, Grant Writer, Lawyer, Development Assistant, Real Estate Broker, Business Manager, Insurance Agent, Administrative Receptionist, Human Resource Manger, Finance, Musician, Vocal Coach, Poet, Play Writers/ Film Makers, Actors/Actresses, Theater Director, Public Relation Specialist, Journalist, and Box Office Staff. It’s my hope that my book will be used as a tool for community based advocacy and to create dialogue for social justice.
