Transcript

Welcome to (Help Stop The Genocide In American Ghettos blogtalkradio) show. I’m your host Emmanuel Barbee. Tonight we are celebrating 25 years since the creation of “GRCAM” the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement. First I would like to acknowledge God for allowing me to have a burning desire to spread the vision he has given me to share with others online and offline. I thank God for allowing Sister Rena to travel from Wisconsin to Chicago Illinois to attend local events and passing out my book fliers with me. Thank you Lord for my blogtalkradio interview with Ms. Naimah Latif. Most of all thank you for allowing me to use this show as a platform to broadcast my vision to a global audience.

It’s my hope that my revised book would get into the hands of Angel Investors, Business Partners, Christian Entrepreneurs, and Social Entrepreneurs who will work with me in starting my For Profit business in Chicago. As well as get into the hands of Donors, Philanthropist, and Sponsors who will work with me in starting my Nonprofit organization in Chicago. I want everybody in America to know my story and people from around the world to know that you called me to build this great organization for my people who are trapped in American ghettos, just like you did for Nehemiah. He was called by God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem during the Babylonian exile.

Next year I will host this show every Thursday at 10:00PM to 10:30PM Central Time. I will also be hosting a webinar following the show on Facebook messenger to give people a chance to answer questions concerning the topics at hand from 10:30PM to 12:00AM Central Time. I will use this show to give local, national, and international grassroots Actors/Actresses, Artists, Comedians, Dancers, Fashion Designers, Film Makers, Models, Musicians, Poets, Gospel Singers, Writers, Church leaders, and upcoming entrepreneurs to promote their talents and skills on this show. All you have to do is send me a friend request on Facebook and include your email and I will discuss this with you in detail.

The Grass Roots Community Activist Movement is the fastest growing Christian organization online. We’re using social media to reach an entire NEW generation of Believers from around the world. I created GRCAM on November 10th 1991 on a site called Gopher. My focus then was on inner city youth and their families who I believe are entitled to respect, basic resources, and safety in their own community. I wanted to create a space to empower black students on campus to share our experience, exchange ideas, and answer questions about our beliefs, and grapple with ethical problems we never considered before attending college. Today I have broaden my perspective to include African Immigrants, Afro Brazilians, Afro Caribbean, and Nonblack sympathizers who are interested in working with me to solve black issues head on. I also welcome all Christian denominations, moderate Muslims, and secular people to join this new movement in Urban America.

GRCAM is currently a virtual Christian socialist organization. Christian socialism is a form of socialism based on the teachings of Jesus. We believe capitalism is idolatrous and rooted in greed, which some Christian denominations consider a mortal sin. The cause of social inequality is due to capitalism. We will focus on what we stand for: love, compassion, social justice, and liberation theology. Jesus commanded us to be a witness to others not just for us to read his word, but to activate social change in the world according to Luke 4:18-19. GRCAM will be committed to the healing ministry of Jesus by showing compassion to inner city youth and their families which will promote dignity to the people and community we will serve.

My vision has been ignored by established black organizations in my city for far too long. I offer something that no black leader has in America that is a solution to end urban violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities we will serve if given a chance. Our city has been ravaged by senseless gun violence with more than 3,200 shootings this year alone, claiming the lives of children and destroying families.

Our goal is to Save Lives. The devastation of urban violence on our communities and families is unimaginable. The only tools currently available for me to get my message out to the public are my Youtube videos, my Social Groups, my Blog Postings, my Blogtalkradio show, my free Webinars on Facebook, Google Plus and Skype. The only thing which is preventing me from turning my virtual Christian organization into a real business is the lack of manpower and the capital this is why I keep re-emphasizing my revised book “The Solution For Black America: Reclaiming, Rebuilding, And Restoring The Urban Ghettos In America” second edition available on Amazon. This is not my burden alone this will take a collective afford.

The Purpose for this show is for me to mobilize my true supporters from across the United States and people from around the globe to work with me by reading my story and helping me get my revised book on the best seller list so that I can do all of the things which I have written. Once I have generated enough capital from my book sell then I will hire qualified individuals to assist me in starting the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute of Chicago and eventually in 10 other cities within 10 states. My vision goes beyond Urban America I plan on having African Immigrants in America to assist me in setting up chapters in 10 countries in Africa.

We will go through the proper channels with their government to start our (NGO) Non-government organization. We will offer private employment to our clients and members based on our budget and our sponsorship. We will provide infrastructure for clean running water, agricultural technology to feed the people, and most of all help improve the African economy as well as educate the people about the problems with Capitalism and show them an alternative GRCAM. In time, we will expand to Brazil and the Caribbean Islands.

Our community will be built on values of faith, community service, stewardship and growth with friendship at the center of everything we do. GRCAM is about making our urban community better, healthier, and stronger. GRCAM is also about building a strong unified global community and providing basic resources to families that want to utilize our programs and services. GRCAM is open to all ordinary law abiding citizens, all racial groups, and undiscovered artist.

GRCAM is private in order for me to weed out harden criminals, active gang members, urban terrorist and small minded individuals who careless about inner city youth and their families. GRCAM is membership base once we have a place of business in Chicago everyone who wants to join must attend our mandatory orientation and sign our consent form and be place in our database to make sure everyone is doing their part. My book is my pledge to all of my members is that none of his members would ever have to suffer such humiliation and rejection just for trying to do something positive in the black community. This is his contribution back to my community, society, and throughout the African Diaspora.

The Facts

+ For 25 years I have been doing my best to find 30 qualified people in my city and online to join my management team yet still to this day I have no one on my management team. Established black organizations has overlooked my plan to improve our inner cities in Chicago, from the Chicago Southside NAACP to the Chicago Westside NAACP, the Chicago Urban League, Rainbow PUSH, and the Ghana National Council of Chicago.

No black churches in Chicago is interested in working with me they just tell me to keep up the good work but won’t allow me to pass out my book fliers after church services but allow career politicians to come and speak to the church Lord have mercy on my racial group.

+ Since 2001 over 4000 people has been killed in Chicago alone and as a result Chicago is currently the murder capital in America. We see that all of the protesting and chanting is not working to bring about social change. We see that nothing is working to end senseless violence in Chicago what’s wrong with this picture? If only I could reach positive demonstrators to work with me in getting this organization started in Chicago then America and the world would see real change come about in our inner cities in America.

Our Mission

* Committed to bringing community activists together by raising awareness about gun violence and what we can do to solve it.

* To end urban violence, poverty, structural inequality, institutionalized racism, and police brutality within the communities and cities we will serve if given a chance.

* To reverse the trend of declining urban communities by strengthening single black families. Our programs and services are designed to:

• Provide supports for students struggling with reading, writing, and math
• Promote effective parenting and community involvement
• Advocate for adequate community resources
• Strengthen local black businesses within the community we will serve

Our Parent Support Services will be designed to provide guidance and support for new families in who lack a support system for their children needs. From workshops and interventions to strengthen the role of parents in their child’s education. We will also represent parents as non-legal advocates in securing accommodations as stipulated in their 504 Plan.

Our Workforce Empowerment Training Program will be designed to empower individuals through comprehensive training to increase the marketable skills of adults that are underemployed, unemployed or seeking to upgrade their skills in order to earn a living. We will offer training programs in the Real Estate, Cosmetology and Construction.

Our Youth Empowerment Programs will focus on academic programs and provide supports that strengthen our students in preparedness from grades PreK-12, and promote post-secondary education. Our healthy youth initiatives will promote choices for healthy lifestyle. We will provide student leadership to build their self-esteem, self-confidence and cultural awareness.

We will set forth these “Village Values” as our shared vision and goals that are reflective of our platform. These attributes, will help guide our work and are the means by which we articulate what is, and has been, intrinsically important to this organization.

Sharing Knowledge
We share, create, stimulate and promote knowledge in the area of education as it relates to parental involvement.

Education
We believe that educational resources should be accessible freely to all students, regardless of their race, sex, or geographical location. We believe that a child’s social class status should not be the gauge by which their learning capacity is measured.

Consensus
We strongly believe “there is wisdom and safety in the counsel of many” and therefore are committed to promoting a collaborative working environment that embraces honesty and respect for other points of view.

Transparency
We believe that everyone benefits from a solid education system. Therefore, we support the transparent sharing of information, and inspire confidentiality by pursuing a comprehensive information policy.

Accessibility
We will strive to make our programs and services accessible to parents and their children by implementing education resources for children.

We will promote education, fitness, and health. We harnesses the passion of for our clients and members to improve the lives of our children and their families across Chicago and beyond. Our goal is to provide increased access to sports opportunities within this organization and target improvements in health, fitness and education for those at risk youth. We will offer the most effective programs and services to achieve positive impact and demonstrate results.

GRCAM will promote black dignity and serve as a beacon of hope. I made a commitment to grow Chicago for Christ in all Christian denominations. In an election year where Americans have lost faith in both political parties, it’s time for new leadership to step up. It’s never too late to do the right thing. I have no affiliations with any Chicago organizations. The trouble facing our nation didn’t just happen overnight. There is no THEY out there ready to swoop in and set things right. There’s just you and me. It’s up to us to take on the burden to solve our inner cities in America starting in Chicago. GRCAM stands for social justice, grassroots democracy, promote healthy communities, and non-violence.

We believe that developing grassroots leadership is essential to building power and making positive change in our community. We value people power. We believe power is the ability to act, and through organizing we bring people together and build collective power. Become a member of the Grass Roots Community Activist Movement today and let us show you and the world the best of black culture and enjoy our vibrant, year round programs and services from the artistic elements, our business elements and our medical elements of the African Diaspora dance, music, exhibitions, visual arts, culture and the performing arts. We will become the hub of the Midwest for arts festivals in the country, where tens of thousands of visitors can experience the African Diaspora Cultures and many other events to create markets for artists and entrepreneurs.

Our Vision

A good vision will paint a vivid mental picture of the future state of an organization. GRCAM vision guides our decision-making process. GRCAM has a strong and well-defined organizational mission. We are committed to
helping people improve their conditions so they can:
Be productive and provide for their families
Help to re-build our inner cities in America
We know that this is done one person at a time. But the more people who attain these goals, the greater likelihood that the inner cities of Chicago will change and become a stronger and more productive.

Our Values

* Health and Wellness – The need for physical activity, diet, and nutrition as well as embracing preventative programs for health and well-being.

* Intellectual – recognizing our creative abilities and expanding our knowledge and skills.

* Spiritual – Expanding our sense of purpose and meaning in life.

* Environmental – We believe in stewarding Earth’s resources in order to create pleasant, stimulating environments which supports well-being.

* Community Service – A sense of connection, a sense of togetherness, and a well developed support system to meet the need of our community.

GRCAM is based on five components:

* Our Social service component – We will provide goods and services to the low income African American community by working directly with single black mothers, single black fathers, and low income two parent families within the communities and cities we will serve. We will offer private employment within the organization to our clients and members based on our budget and sponsorship. In time we will offer a second chance program for ex offenders, former gang members, and the homeless. Our goal is to first stabilize the community through our outreach programs and services and create legitimate jobs so that our young people don’t become career criminals. As a result we will have safer streets where our clients can raise their families.

* Our spiritual component – (Optional for secular people) GRCAM is a Christian socialist organization. A Christian socialist is a form of socialism based on the teachings of Jesus. Many Christian socialists believe that capitalism is idolatrous and rooted in greed, social inequality, and institutionalized racism which most Christian denominations consider a mortal sin. We will focus on what we stand for: love, compassion, social justice, and liberation theology. Jesus commanded us to be a witness to others not just for us to read his word, but to activate social change in the world according to Luke4:18-19.

* Our political component – We will create our own independent political party at the local level. We will educate the community and push for community rights by creating our own laws known as community rights and get those laws on the books which will be compatible with the dominant culture. Our laws would protect our local residents and give the community a voice and those affected by bias in the current system. We will hold both Rogue Cops and Urban Terrorist accountable for their actions in a constructive manner. We will form cooperative alliance beyond the black community so that this organization can be diverse for all people of Chicago and surrounding suburbs of Chicago.

* Our Entertainment component – We will host the best African American DJs, African Immigrant DJs, Afro Brazilian DJs and Afro Caribbean DJs. We will display the best of black culture has to offer: from concerts, workshops/seminars, and plenty of family friendly activities. We will host the best parties in Chicago, with various music genres such as Reggae, Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Hip Hop/Holy Hip Hop, Spoken word and more. We will create the best films and stage plays in Chicago, and we will promote unknown artist who become members of this organization. It’s my hope that the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute would become the Hub in the Midwest for emerging artists and upcoming entrepreneurs.

* Our Entrepreneurship component – we will provide help accelerate black business ownership within the black community which will help strengthen the black family which would make an impact in the economy.

My goal is to turn my virtual organization GRCAM into a real business the Grass Roots Community Activist Institute of Chicago. GRCAI will be membership based organization designed to represent and assist inner city youth and their families as well as businesses in the community. Our policy is to promote goodwill and a friendly business environment for merchants, consumers, and local residents. The Grass Roots Community Activist Institute will work to foster economic empowerment on the Westside and Southside of Chicago through the collaborative efforts of our staff and volunteers based on my revised book.
